Ok - now that that is out of the way, let us explain to you what is going on with these "Medicare commercials that are pitched by people like Joe (I'm not a good actor let alone football player) Namath or JJ ("Dy-no-mite" is the only thing I am known for) Walker.

Every time one of the enrollment periods come around for Medicare plans, these commercials roll out. They make these great promises of things you can get like:

* Your Medicare Part B premium returned to you

* Up to $3500 in dental coverage

* Gym memberships

* Home delivered prescriptions

* Vision coverage

* Hearing coverage

* And more...all at no additional cost.

So what is the truth?

The truth is that if you call the numbers on the commercials, your phone will blow up with agents from all over the country calling you to try to get you to sign up for a plan with them. You see, companies behind the commercials will then sell your contact information to people who will call you until you destroy your phone.

Now the truth is that many of these things they are saying that you can get actually are available through Medicare Advantage Plans automatically. However, some of the benefits (like the Medicare Part B returned to your Social Security or the $3500 dental benefits) are really tied into whether or not you qualify for what is called Low Income Subsidies...but they do not tell you that.
